From the National Weather Service:

Las Vegas ties the second longest streak of 110 degree or higher temperatures…

The high temperature at McCarran International Airport Monday was 110 degrees. This was the 9th consecutive day of readings 110 degrees or higher tying the second longest streak on record. The longest streak is 10 consecutive days set in June of 1961. The forecast high temperature for Tuesday is only 105 degrees.

It looks like it only got to 106 or so today. I was a bit surprised that some monsoonal moisture is predicted to surge up the Colorado River Valley into the area tomorrow. The Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms and has issues a Flash Flood Watch for Wednesday. Precipitable water values are from 1 to 1.5 inches and some moderate atmospheric instability.

It would be nice to see some rain after we get done with our fish surveys on the Virgin River on Wednesday.
